The Transformation of Downtown Winamac through Projects
In 2025, we’re launching three new projects aimed at bringing fresh energy and positive change to our downtown. We’re excited to grow together and can’t wait to see how these efforts help shape the future of our community.
Planter boxes
In partnership with the town and local businesses, we’re installing permanent planters along the sidewalk near the Isis Movie Theater. This streetscape improvement will enhance the area's appearance, create a more inviting space for pedestrians, and support the local business community. The planters will feature seasonal plantings and durable designs that reflect the character of the neighborhood.
Banner Art
We are partnering with local youth to design and create banners for the new light posts in town. This project encourages community engagement and creativity while giving young people a chance to contribute to the town’s visual identity. The banners will celebrate local pride, reflect the town’s character, and bring color and vibrancy to our streets.
Adding Mural
We aim to add a vibrant mural to a prominent downtown building as a way to celebrate local culture and enhance the visual appeal of the area. This public art project will serve as a focal point for the community, spark conversation, and contribute to a lively and welcoming downtown atmosphere. Community input and local artist involvement will be key to shaping a mural that reflects the spirit and identity of our town.
